Central Repository for All Trial Balance Information Hyperion
FDM stores current and historical information by category, period
and location. The central repository stores all source trial balance,
supplemental data and journals from all locations in a common format.
Administrators, Tax, AP, AR, internal auditors and external auditors
all benefit from access to the central repository.
GL Data Pump and Integration Manager Eliminate manual end-user data manipulation and opportunities for errors and risk. Hyperion FDM has the ability to read and interpret any General Ledger Trial Balance file or report in ANY format or any Excel file in any format. Source Financial Document Archival A key ingredient to Sarbox compliance, the ability to automatically archive all financial documents and drill on them will be critical to any organizations internal controls. Drill from Hyperion input accounts to the detail of the source system in Hyperion and then drill on that detail to open the source document that contains the line item of the detail. Source text and Excel documents are automatically part of the permanent audit archive.
Supporting Document Attachment End-users, administrators and audit can attach any supporting documents or file to the line item of detail that needs further support or documentation. This completes audit package is stored in the central repository and is a key internal control.
Current and Historical Map Storage by Location, by Category, & by Period FDM stores each map in by period, by location, and by category allowing auditors to go back in time and view historical data integration at previous points in time.
Mapping Validation The end user must validate all source financial data against the target system valid input dimensions prior to creating a load file. Undefined accounts, entities, and custom dimensions cannot be passed to the target system. This will speed up the closing process and improve the accuracy of data.
Data Validation and Rules Checking Hyperion FDM has the ability to force end-users to pass data validation rules thus ensuring the highest quality of data is received by corporate. End-users receive immediate notification of the failure to meet quality or completeness standards. Financial close bottlenecks are eliminated because corporate also gives the end user the vehicle to investigate and correct errors quickly and easily. FDM's data integrity checking along with standard audit tools and reports are critical to achieving the corporate goals of full end-user responsibility with complete corporate control.
Process Visibility The Hyperion FDM Data Collection Status Report shows every location and exactly where they are in the process of completing the data load. This report allows administrators to be proactive in situations that require urgency.
Process and Activity Logging All end user activities are logged. FDM logs over 50 standard events and these events are presented in our standard reports. The logging of map additions, deletions, and changes is of particular value when monitoring the integrity current maps and the financial data collected. The logging of end-user processes is critical to the visibility required for strict internal controls around the data collection process.

Sarbanes-Oxley Internal Controls Support Hyperion FDM supports the Section 302 and 404 requirements for a framework to assess, maintain and certify controlling activities associated with the entire financial reporting process. Hyperion has integrated this activity and entity level questionnaires and certification process with our standard financial data collection process. Hyperion is the only solution that combines the collection of actual source data with a central repository for section 302 certifications and Section 404 assessments.
Role Based Security The ability to define the availability of every visible object in the user interface based on individual roles in the company. Role Based security is administrator defined and allows end users the right to view and access ONLY their assigned locations or responsibilities.
